I have been working with schools on 1:1 computing initiatives and projects since 2004. See the links on my presentation "The Case for 1:1 Computing in Schools" for more details. My 2006 TCEA presentation on this topic is still available on the Apple Learning Interchange (ALI).
I maintained a listing of resources related to 1:1 computing here prior to December 2007, and that old webpage is still available as an archive.
